Reconstruction of the original monument by the architect Julio Jiménez Castedo, erected in 1912 to commemorate the 7th Centenary of the Battle of Navas de Tolosa. Its first location was in the Plaza de España, later it was dismantled and moved to the centre of the Plaza de las Delicias. In 1961 it was dismantled, and the bronze plaques alluding to the historical event and its protagonists were placed on the main staircase of the Town Hall.
