Sinapism

The name of this mine has always attracted attention due to its rarity, being a "sinapism" a poultice or ointment with ointment for respiratory diseases generally. This mining concession was registered in 1873 by Hilarión Roux, who exploited it until 1897, and in 1905 it passed into the hands of the Sociedad Castilla la Vieja y Jaén. It ceased activity around 1935, reaching a depth of 410 m. This mine acquired a bad reputation due to the numerous accidents and deaths that occurred there.
